Some Cape Coral News I wanted to share with you

Last week we learned about some really nice projects the City is planning (or was planning for a long time) – the nicest ones seem to become reality within the next year or two.

Among others

47th Terrace Streetscape

This is going to be the “new” down town area in Cape Coral. With wide site walks, less traffic, restaurants, bars, stores and street café’s. city is planning to be all done with this by the end of 2018. I think that will be a great place to be.

Bimini Basin

The Bimini Basin is in the planning since many many years – finally it seems to get off the ground. The plans will be finalized before the end of this year. It will be tied in with the 47th Terrace Streetscape project and start at Four freedom’s park. Here you will find waterfront restaurants, retail stores and entertainment.

Seven Islands

This is another very nice Cape Coral Project and will bring some development to the NW Part of our City. Almost like another little down town area with a marina, restaurants, condos, stores, hotel,….. Timeframe for Seven Islands is about 2 – 3 years from now.

Academic Village

This is a development planed for the NE Section of Cape Coral since “ever”. They had some zoning and environmental issues but they seem to be solved now. Basically the City got the go ahead on this project as well. Even so this is an old plan but it will give you some idea what the Academic Village is supposed to look like:

Chiquita Lock

Since many years the City of Cape Coral is planning to eliminate the Chiquita Boat Lock. All studies are done and the conclusion is that the lock can be taken out – They are waiting for the demolition order from the DEP and are unsure when that is going to happen. So we just have to be patient and wait and see. More info:
